Autojakarta - The low-cost Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV)
car market is indeed an attractive segment. One that is quite dominant in the
Indonesian market is the Daihatsu Xenia. PT Astra Daihatsu
Motor (ADM) markets the Xenia as a powerful low MPV with a relatively
affordable price. As an old player, Daihatsu Xenia has to compete with
newcomers such as Honda Mobilio, Mitsubishi Xpander or Suzuki Ertiga, including
its twin brother, Toyota
Avanza. The name Daihatsu Xenia itself seems to lose prestige from Avanza.
This is because Xenia is under the shadow of the Toyota
Avanza, which is dubbed the car of a million people in Indonesia. But because
these two cars are the result of collaboration, they do not have a significant
difference in the engine sector or appearance. Although present as a
collaboration twin car, but the fate of Daihatsu cars is usually not as lucky
as Toyota cars. This is not a bad thing because even though it is a twin, the
price set by Daihatsu is actually cheaper, so its segmentation is below Toyota.
If previously Daihatsu provided Xenia
with a 1.3L engine, finally this Japanese manufacturer also provided another
option with a 1.5L variant. The specifications and power are clearly different.
Xenia 1.3L with 1 NR-VE DOHC Dual VVT-i engine has 95 hp, while the Xenia 1.5L
comes with the same engine as Terios, 2 NR-VE DOHC Dual VVT-i with 102 hp and
136 Nm of torque.
The appearance of the Daihatsu Xenia is quite modern, for
the top of the grille it uses a chrome color. At the front under the car, there
is a bumper with an integrated black grille and connected to the fog lamps.
Changes are also seen in the hood, which currently has an indentation on the
edge of the hood, either on the right side or on the left side. For types
starting from the 1.3 R Duluxe, on the front bumper there is a parking sensor
that can be turned on or off using the button near the car's keyhole. The
latest Xenia changes are not only in the front radiator grille,
the latest Daihatsu Xenia headlights currently look more
attractive with a multilevel design, similar to the Toyota Vellfire headlight
design. The headlights already use an LED bulb type, but the turn signal lights
and evening lights use Halogen bulbs. Interiors For Xenia type R Duluxe, a
Pioneer head unit has been installed, support for DVD/CD/MP3/USB/GPS/Rear
Parking Monitor.
On the steering wheel of the Xenia starting from type R,
there are already audio settings buttons and in variants starting from the 1.3
R there are 6 speakers (4 speakers are in the door and 2 tweeter speakers are
at the top of the dashboard). At the bottom of the head unit there is a hazard
light button and cardholder while the AC settings are digital. For setting the
steering wheel can only go up and down and can not go back and forth.
The cabin feel of the latest Xenia is a dual tone color
combination of brown on the bottom and top of the dashboard with black. The
seats are still made of fabric with a black bandage. Daihatsu Xenia Cabin
Comfort Many of the advantages in this latest Xenia start from a quieter cabin.
Then the folding of the second row seats that only need to turn the knob
without having to lift the seat so that it can lean forward.
The design and
upholstery material has been changed and feels softer, for increased comfort
for long trips. In addition, increased comfort at high car speeds, with
adjustments to the suspension side of the car. Reinforcement on the floor
structure of the car is also increased, to facilitate control. Daihatsu Xenia
Service Fee From periodic maintenance, what distinguishes the Daihatsu Xenia
model is the engine oil capacity, the difference is 0.3 liters in quantity.
For Xenia 1.3 it takes 2.7 liters or 3 liters, while 1.5L
takes 3.5 liters or rounded up to 4 liters. Every oil change at 10,000 km, for
the 1.5L there is an additional fee of around Rp. 70,000 for the oil. In
addition to engine oil, the use of an anti-lock braking system (ABS) safety
device on the Xenia 1.5L makes a difference in the composition of the brake
fluid. If the Xenia 1.3L only requires two bottles of brake fluid, the 1.5L
variant consumes approximately three bottles of brake fluid.
1. Service fee range of the first 10,000 km When
servicing the first 10,000 km, you are not charged for the service. So you only
need to pay the cost of replacing parts including brake linings, oil filters,
engine oil, transmission oil, air filters, AC filters. The estimated cost of
replacing parts at 10,000 km is around IDR 1.2 million.
2. Service fee range of 30,000 km and 40,000 km
Furthermore, the components that will be inspected at the 30,000 km and 40,000
km service are inspection of the legs, brake linings, brake fluid, V-belts, air
filters, AC filters, and oil filters.
3. Service charge range 60,000 km and 70,000 km At 60,000
km, you have to provide Rp 651 thousand. Then at 70,000 you need Rp 631
thousand. 4. Service charge range 90,000 km At 90,000 km you need to prepare
the same funds for the 70,000 km service, which is Rp. 631 thousand. Likewise
for 100,000 km, the service fee is the same as when servicing 60,000 km.
You can check the fees for this service on the official
Daihatsu website. But the price of components must change and can be checked at
the workshop where you service the car. The Difference in Service Fees for
Manual or Automatic Xenia Cars On the Xenia 1.3L, both manual and automatic
versions are charged the same periodic service fee, namely Rp. 612 thousand for
periodic services of 30,000 km, 50,000 km, 70,000 km and 90,000 km.
But you need to prepare more funds for periodic servicing
of 40,000 km. The service fee for a manual transmission Xenia will be Rp. 152
thousand more expensive than an automatic Xenia.
Then for the cost of servicing a Xenia car at an
authorized repair shop at 80,000 km, an automatic Xenia car requires more
funds. The service fee for the manual Xenia is IDR 1,863,700 while the
automatic version costs around IDR 2,144,500. This higher cost is due to the
automatic Xenia car needing to change the transmission oil at 80,000 km. The
price for transmission oil alone is Rp. 66,500. If you need eight bottles, the
expenditure for oil alone is Rp. 548 thousand.
